Bouddhanath Stupa is located eight kilometres from the central Kathmandu to reach this Stupa. It is regarded one of the biggest Stupas in the world. It is in the shape of a mandala and you can also visit the Gompa located near the Stupa. The Tibetan refugees live around this area.
Kathmandu Durbar Square is an open museum, situated in the heart of Kathmandu. If you are in tourist city Thamel, you can reach there by walking in 2o minutes. It is full of ancient pagoda style temples. There are classical royal palace, Kumarighar, where the living goddess lives, Newari arts and architectures, Chowks and Pati. The Kasthamandap building, located in this square is made up of a single log. Also popular as the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, it epitomizes the rich cultural heritages and the work of art.
