Show All

Trekking into the isolated part of the western Nepal beyond the Dhaulagiri peak is amazing in the lower section of the Dolpo region. This is a restricted area trekking that can be done in the monsoon because the area is located in the rain shadow region. Dolpo is a mystical place and with the pristine views of Lake and Rivers. The landscape in the upper section is treeless, which is similar to the Tibetan terrain.

To reach the Dolpo region is challenging itself. From Kathmandu, you need to fly to Nepalgunj and then fly further to the Juphal airstrip of the Dolpo region. Trekking in Lower Dolpo is beyond your imagination to explore the natural offerings and the Busshist Bon PO culture. The trek includes various high passes like Numa La (5360m), Baga La (5090m), Kagmara La (5115m) and other crossings. The trail lies in the Phoksundo National Park, which is the pocket area of the snow leopard. The local people have a distinct kind of living practices and one of them is to collect caterpillar fungus. Some of the alpine meadows like Dho Tarap and other places are highlighting places for this. Phoksundo Lake, a large lake with pristine blue water collection is a small paradise. You can spend the whole day, sitting beside the Lake.
